VL Flex takes readings from conventional senders and puts them onto NMEA 2000 itself. That removes a converter from the install, and with it a box, a power feed and two more connectors that can corrode.
Useful on a repower where the engine is new and NMEA 2000, but the tanks and rudder are still on the original analogue senders.
